Aphasia is a neurological condition caused by damage to the part of the brain most typically, the left hemisphere. Aphasia involves varying degrees of impairment mostly in the areas of understanding of language, trouble with spoken language, and impairment with reading and writing. Depending on an individual’s unique set of symptoms, impairments may result in the loss of ability to use communication as a tool for life. The most common cause of aphasia is stroke (Ischemic or Hemorrhagic), TBI, brain tumors, brain surgery.
